DJ MOJICA

 Dec 31, 2009 - Sept 7, 2019
Funny, Competitive, Brave, Determined

DJ was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at 17 months old. Against incredible odds, DJ beat cancer a miraculous 4 times. He fought hard every day through his cancer treatments, physical therapy, educational delays, and all the late effects of treatments that eventually took his life.

If you had the pleasure of knowing DJ, you will remember his sweet voice, witty humor, and love for the Dallas Cowboys and NYSA. DJ loved being around people who raised his spirit. Many of his fondest memories and treasured moments involved family and community.

On NYSA gear you may see our DJ logo. It is NYSA's way to remember DJ and continue to heal our grieving hearts. DJ was JAM's brother, Coach Rocky and Ashlei's son, President Coach Randy "Mo", Coach Mary Jo, Coach Rudy's nephew, Coach Jayvin and Coach James' cousin.

Not everyone was fortunate enough to meet DJ. Here's a short video of who we wear on our gear.
WE LOVE YOU DJ!

NYSA GOES GOLD

In September NYSA dedicates a Saturday to turn our home field and participants gear gold.
NYSA's  goal is raise awareness about pediatric cancer and support our pediatric cancer community.
We ask our community to consider making a donation to the following non-profits:

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education -
DJ Mojica Memorial Scholarship
This donation will used to help a high school senior who either is a cancer survivor or serves the pediatric community continue their education after high school.

The Clay Madsen Foundation
The Clay Madsen Foundation was established for the purpose of honoring the name and memory of a lost friend and role model by aiding families in his community who have loved ones stricken with cancer.
